Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This policy covers the QuickSSH app, its server (quicksshd), the browser extension and this website. In short: QuickSSH does not send your records or connections to us. Your data stays either on your own computer or on a server that you (or your organisation) run.
App and server
- Records: VPN profiles, sessions, passwords, keys and notes are stored on this computer, encrypted with your master password, or on the central server you connect to. The central server is run by you or your organisation; EarthQuick has no access to this data.
- Audit log: actions are written to the server's own log and stay on the server.
- License: the license key is verified inside the app, without connecting to the internet.
- Update check: every six hours the server reads
https://quick-ssh.earthquick.dev/indir/latest.jsonto find out whether a new version is out. If you install an update, the package is downloaded from the same place. Nothing from your records is sent with these requests; like any visit to this website, they appear in the web server's log (see below). - The app has no ads, tracking or usage statistics.
Browser extension
- The extension collects no data and sends nothing to EarthQuick or any other server.
- It only talks to the QuickSSH bridge running on this computer (
127.0.0.1), and only after it has been paired with a pairing key. - In the browser's storage set aside for the extension it keeps only: the bridge address, the pairing key and the routing rules last applied. These never leave the browser.
- The popup reads only the name of the site you are on (for example
grafana.example.com) so it can offer a route for it. Page content is never read or modified. - Passwords, keys and tokens stay in QuickSSH; none of them are sent to the browser.
This website
- The website uses Google Analytics to measure visits (with Google's Consent Mode v2).
- If you decline, no cookies are set. Only cookieless requests that do not identify you are sent to Google (the page opened, approximate location, device and browser type); Google uses them for aggregate counts without linking visits together.
- If you consent, Google Analytics cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) are set as well, so visits from the same browser are counted together. - Data goes to Google (Google Ireland Ltd.). Advertising and personalisation signals are always off.
- Your choice is stored only in your browser; you can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
- Cloudflare (the network in front of the site) runs a page view counter that uses no cookies and does not identify visitors.
- The website has no ads and loads no fonts from other servers. The browser extension and the app contain no measurement code.
- Like any website, the web server keeps an access log: IP address, time, requested address and browser details. These records are used only to run and secure the site and are not shared with third parties.
