License

quickssh works without a license as well; a license only raises the number of records and users you can define.

Free use

• 20 records: VPN profiles and sessions (SSH, SFTP, FTP, RDP, VNC, databases) count together.
• 3 users: only on a central server, for users connecting remotely.

When the limit is reached, no new record or user can be added. Existing records keep working; you can edit and delete them. The same applies to an expired license: nothing is deleted, you just can't add beyond the limit.

Entering a license key

A license key is a single line of text starting with QSL1..

• In the interface: paste it into the Settings → License card and press Apply license. The card shows the plan, the usage and the limits.
• On the command line: quickssh license set <key or file>. For the status, quickssh license.
• On a central server: Settings → License in the admin panel, or quicksshd license set <key> on the server.

On a central server only admins can change the license; everyone can see its status. The license is installed on the server and applies to every client connecting to it. Changes are written to the audit log.

Removing the license

quickssh license remove returns to the free limits. Your records stay in place.
